It's more or less over

SUEDE are to split.

The band, who released their 'Singles' album last month, have announced
today (November 5) that they will each be working on their "individual
projects" from next year.

The band have issued a statement, that reads: "Suede would like to
announce that from next year they will be working on their own individual
projects. There will not be a new studio album until the band feel that the
moment is artistically right to make one. This announcement does not affect
the forthcoming touring commitments. Suede would like to thank the fans
for their wonderful support over the years. See you in the next life."

I haven't really kept up with them since Head Music. Perhaps, something good will emerge. Now, everyone can start wetting their undies with dreams of a Brett/Bernard reunion.

Well, they no longer loathe eachother. If they got along too well, I'd imagine it might be a bore. Maybe Brett should record a couple of songs with Damon.

Do those two still talk? Have you read "The Last Party: Britpop, Blair and the Demise of English Rock?" I'd read an excerpt in the Guardian before it was released here -- it was about the infamous Brett-Justine-Damon sandwich. Not bad, still haven't bought it, though.

yes! i have that book! i also have the live forever dvd with interviews with them... i really really want the love and posion suede bio but they keep pushing the release date forward.

god i sound like such a groupie but i saw elastica when they played in hollywood to promote the menace and in true groupie form hung around until i got to talk with the group. we had some drinks at the rainbow room next to the roxy and some guy was totally obsessing over her and mew - but he had a great escape shirt on. after he got his autograph justine goes 'what a cunt - nice shirt'. i will get my pics scanned if you want to see. ok i've stopped blowing my horn - eeek! ;)

have you heard anything about the biography being released anytime soon?

How was the book? Good gossip? I hope it didn't dwell on the Oasis-Blur feud for too long. blech. I don't know much about Suede bio, except that it was supposedly released soon, if not already in the UK. Wasn't the "infamous" Simon Price supposed to be co-writing it?

Oh, I want to see those pics, too. I'm an ass. I stopped going to shows ages ago, and I never ever took a camera when I did. (not that anyone would want to see pics of me trying to stay after a Bush show. Of all the crap bands, too! I liked Robin, not Gavin, just for the record.)
