Re: Anderson & Butler..
Sat, May 29, 2004 - 1:39 PM15 songs? I thought they'd be writing two or three together. I'm anxious now. I'd also read that they were working with one of the Longpigs, the one that's got the solo career. Hmm.
haha. He does look like a hostage.
and, somehow, I think Anderson & Butler is such an appropriate name. -

Re: Anderson & Butler..
Thu, June 3, 2004 - 1:09 AMAlthough A & B roll rather well off the tongue, I actually like the idea of a completely new name... a rebirth to that gorgeous sound(or of course, what I'm projecting it to be... I'm still trying not to slip too far ahead of any realities, tho' that's never really worked in the past). Besides, there's already so much rivalry in the Suede/Butler camps over the old and new regime that I crave the fresh start as Suave and Elegant old men.
The whole concept, honestly, is still sinking in ... I'm afraid I wasn't very faithfull -even after the 'Curry' Incident. Hmm, som-more.

Re: Anderson & Butler..
Fri, June 11, 2004 - 5:57 PMI'm curious as to why you think it's pathetic? And, wait ... do you mean dollar signs - guess I could see that reference, but I'm not quite getting the # reference.
Not trying to be bitchy, just curious ~A` -

Re: Anderson & Butler..
Sat, June 12, 2004 - 4:46 PMbecause suedes last two albums didn't do very well in england at all and they did get a lot of success with their ica shows esp. the night they did dog man star and the first album... so it's pretty tacky to me that bernard who has been doing badly on the solo front would suddenly agree to work with brett when they both arent doing too well in the public eye... it's all hype i think to try and recreate suedes glory days and get more money to probably help out brett's crack habit - ha ha
it's cool i don't think youre being bitchy at all... maybe i'm a just a professional cynic but my hearts not in it...

Re: Anderson & Butler..
Mon, June 14, 2004 - 2:49 PMYeah, I guess if I was overseas with the NME staring at me all day I might have the same opinion. Although I seemed to get the impression that Head Music had some success and that the last McAlmont and Butler cd, I've heard from several sources, was musically brilliant. I don't know, I don't really care about the sales/public eye thing much, there are too many bands I love and have loved whom have all been word of mouth. I mean, even when Suede was getting huge favorable amounts of press in those early days, they were also getting slagged off just as much, and even more-so when Blur finally got their hit record and when Oasis(a nice publically accepted act, not some fringe-haired boy singing about the tease of bisexuality) entered the scene -- it's all really a bunch of crap compared to the music being made.
For now I'm gonna hold off on the cynicsm, I'm just too curious to see what has been coming of it... and don't tell me that if Morrissey and Marr got back together you wouldn't go out and buy the album? It's too tempting. And sometimes the only reason the hype is there might slightly be because it's a big deal to some people. I know it is for some suede fans, as 10 years later people still bring up the Richard vs. Bernard conversation about every week(and this was before the 'pint & curry' deal).
Funny... until B&B reunited I had thought my fandomship was dwindling, now I'm all aggro. and excited .... and posting to boards like this one? On all accounts, who'd-a thunk it?

Mon, June 14, 2004 - 2:56 PM... LOL... OH Honey, and I can't even begin to comment on the 'crack-habit' front!!! Only that apparently he officially quit before ANM - am I the only one who's wondered if that made a difference? ~A` -

Re: Anderson & Butler..
Wed, June 16, 2004 - 5:27 AMwell i've been living in england for over two years now and i think it's all still a pile of bollocks. ha ha. but to each their own. i still love suede but i think it's a desperate attempt for money.
hell i fucking love duran duran and i think them getting back together is really pathetic and another attempt for money but i still fucking went to go see them two months ago...! ha ha. -

Re: Anderson & Butler..
Fri, July 16, 2004 - 10:31 AMI've always figured that Brett and Bernard have nothing better to do. I mean, Brett needs to get going on some kind of album, before he disappears, and, Bernard has been rather stagnant, no? (I also heard that his work with Mcalmont was pretty good.) So, I don't feel very resentful or disappointed, yet.
And, as far as Duran Duran, well, it was my equally pathetic dream that they'd have a pathetic reunion. I couldn't be happier. They were some sort of ghost band for so many years. I just wish that Warren would've stayed on, as I've always hated Andy, for no particular reason. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
